Attention is a commodity
I've always found it fascinating how the things we create eventually begin to change us. There was a time when attention was simply something we gave. Today, it's something that can be measured, bought, sold and fought over. I wrote this piece to explore how we arrived here. How decades of technological progress have slowly turned human attention into one of the most valuable commodities in the world. We live in an age where everyone has something to say, but fewer people are listening. Where the greatest challenge for a brand is no longer simply creating something worth seeing, but convincing someone to stop and look. And perhaps that's what fascinates me most. In a world with more ways to communicate than ever before, the brands that will shape the future are the ones that truly understand the value of a moment of someone's attention.
